Bhubaneswar, Aug 31: A college student was stabbed with a sharp-edged weapon allegedly by one of his classmates in the capital city Bhubaneswar on Thursday.
The victim, identified as Biswajit Swain, has sustained critical injuries in the attack and is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the city.
As per reports, the incident took place at Pandav Nagar area in the city when a heated argument ensued between Biswajit and his classmate Chandan Panda over some issues. Later, Chandan, along with some non-students, stabbed Biswajit with a sharp-edged weapon and fled from the spot.
Thereafter, a profusely bleeding Biswajit was rushed to a private hospital in the city.
On getting the information, police arrived at the spot and took stock of the situation.
A probe has been launched into the matter and efforts are on to trace the culprits involved, said the police.
