Bhubaneswar, July 3: Snake helpliners in Odisha’s Bhubaneswar rescued a common cobra which had swallowed a cough syrup bottle.
Snake rescuer Suvendu Mallik blessed a new lease of life to the distressed reptile getting the bottle safely removed from it.
Sources said,a common cobra was struggling with life as it swallowed a cough syrup bottle mistaking it as a prey. It was about to die as its hood was absolutely stuck to the bottle’s face and it’s jaws were badly ruptured.
On being informed from the locals, snake helpline members and animal lovers rushed to the spot to extend their help. The snake helpline member gently widened the lower jaw to free the bottle from the snake’s mouth.
Following a first aid of the wounds, the reptile was released in the forest.
