Deogarh, Jan 20: In a commendable effort, the Forest Officials of Odisha’s Deogarh district on Tuesday rescued three elephant that were stranded in a muddy ditch.

The incident took place in Tinkbir (Baranali) village under the Reamal range this afternoon where the jumbos were safely pulled out of the trench and released in the forest.

According to reports, locals of Reamal informed the forest team regarding three elephants that were about to collapse in deep ditch filled with mud.

On being informed the Reamal Forest Range officials rushed to the spot and initiated a rescue operation.

After a tiring operation the elephants were drawn out of the mud and led into the forest.

Following their release the elephant tracking teams watched the jumbos’ movements, in order to make them join their herd.
