Bhubaneswar, June 11:The second edition of CM Trophy 2.0 concluded successfully on Wednesday, drawing more than 30,000 young athletes from across Odisha and emerging as the state's largest grassroots sports initiative.
Organised by the Sports & Youth Services Department, the tournament featured Football, Kho Kho, Kabaddi, and Volleyball competitions for boys and girls in various age categories. The event aimed to strengthen Odisha’s grassroots sports ecosystem and identify promising young talent.
Among the winners, Bargarh clinched the Boys’ Under-15 Football title, while Bhubaneswar won the Girls’ category. Puri emerged champions in Boys’ Kho Kho and Girls’ Kabaddi, while Khordha secured titles in Girls’ Kho Kho and Girls’ Volleyball. Balasore won Boys’ Kabaddi, and Cuttack topped the Boys’ Volleyball category.
Building on the success of the inaugural football-only edition, which attracted nearly 6,000 participants, CM Trophy 2.0 expanded to multiple sports this year. The tournament provided a platform for young athletes to showcase their skills, with talented participants set to receive advanced training opportunities under Odisha’s sports development programmes.
The successful completion of CM Trophy 2.0 reaffirms Odisha’s commitment to nurturing grassroots talent and developing future sporting champions.
