Bolangir, Mar 10: Following the untimely death of medical student Simran Sarangi in a road accident, Bolangir police have initiated a rigorous drive against reckless bikers, named “Operation Super,” to enhance road safety across the city. The tragic incident has prompted authorities to adopt a zero-tolerance approach towards traffic violations and dangerous riding practices.

Under the operation, police personnel are closely monitoring the city’s major intersections and entry points to identify and curb stunt riding, over-speeding, and other risky behaviours on the roads. Officers have intensified regular checks and are taking stringent action against motorists who violate traffic regulations, including those driving under the influence of alcohol. Violators are being fined, and repeated offenders face stricter legal consequences.

As part of preventive measures, barricades have been installed in front of the Government Ayurvedic College, where the fatal accident occurred, to regulate traffic flow and enhance pedestrian safety. Police officials emphasise that these steps are aimed at not only preventing further accidents but also creating a safer environment for students and residents as well.
