Bhubaneswar, Mar 11: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday announced to increase the meeting remuneration of panchayat-level and block-level federation members of Mission Shakti programme by Rs 500.
This move will benefit a total of 1,26,010 members of the Mission Shakti.
According to this decision, the meeting fee of the president of Grampanchayat and block-level federation, editor and other working members has been increased by 500 rupees. This increased fee will be applicable from the month of October 2023 retroactively.
The remuneration of president and secretaries of block-level federations have been hiked from Rs 4,000 to Rs 4,500 per meeting. Similarly, its other executive members, who were getting Rs 2,000 earlier, will now get Rs 2,500.
Similarly, secretaries and presidents of panchayat-level federations, who were getting Rs 2,000 earlier, will now get Rs 2,500. The same for other executive members has been hiked to Rs 1,500 from Rs 1,000.
In this regard, the state government will bear an additional expense of Rs 249.21 crores annually.
Speaking on it, Patnaik said that Mission Shakti has become a huge movement in Odisha and has played an important role in the economic and social empowerment of women. Various village-level and block-level federations have played an important role in this. These federations have a special role to play in implementing the programs of Self-Help Groups.
