Baripada, May 13: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, during a major public event held at the Bishoi Mini Stadium, inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for developmental projects worth over Rs 420 crore across various blocks of Mayurbhanj district.
Among the key announcements, a new +2 College is set to be established at the Bishoi Block Headquarters, aimed at strengthening higher secondary education in the region.
In a significant tribute to local heritage, the Chief Minister announced that the Bishoi Mini Stadium will be renamed in honor of legendary freedom fighter Dharanidhar Nayak. He further declared that a statue of Nayak would be installed at the venue to commemorate his contributions.
Addressing the gathering, CM Majhi said the projects mark a new chapter in Mayurbhanj’s development journey. "Today is a day of pride and glory for the people of the district," he stated. "These initiatives will trigger a fresh wave of progress in regions including Rairangpur, Kusumi, Bijatala, Bahalda, Jamda, and Tiring, and will help lay the groundwork for a prosperous Odisha."
The wide-ranging projects cover critical infrastructure and social development sectors, including rural and mega piped drinking water supply schemes, school infrastructure enhancement, improved banking access, health centers, road construction, and the establishment of Tribal Culture Centers, among others.
These efforts are expected to significantly uplift the living standards across the district and contribute to inclusive regional development.
