Bhubaneswar, August 31: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday paid tribute to former President of India and veteran politician Pranab Mukherjee on his death anniversary, remembering his immense contribution to public service and the country’s democratic traditions.

In his tribute, Majhi recalled Mukherjee’s long and distinguished political career and his commitment to serving the nation. He said the former President’s contributions to public life, parliamentary democracy and constitutional values would continue to inspire generations.

“His contribution to public service and democratic values will always be remembered,” Majhi said, paying his respects to the former statesman.

 

Pranab Mukherjee, who served as the 13th President of India from 2012 to 2017, was one of the country’s most experienced political leaders. During his decades-long career, he held several key positions in the Union government and played an important role in India’s political and parliamentary affairs.

Mukherjee passed away on August 31, 2020, at the age of 84. His death anniversary is observed as an occasion to remember his decades of service to the nation and his contribution to public life.

Chief Minister Majhi’s tribute highlighted the enduring legacy of Mukherjee as a respected statesman and his role in upholding the values of democracy and public service.
