Nuapada, Aug 22: Following the tragic death of a class III student after drowning in a canal, at least four teachers of Bubhapara Primary High School under Boden Police limits in Odisha’s Nuapada district were placed under suspension.
Sources said that the minor boy, identified as Kesav, along with his friends went to the village canal to take a bath during lunch break. He drowned while bathing and was later rescued by some locals. He was then rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Irate over the incident, Kesav’s parents and the villagers sought to know as to how the boys went to the canal during the lunch break of the school.
The angry villagers detained the headmaster and staff of the school by putting a lock and staged a road blockade, demanding compensation for the family of the deceased.
