Class 10 student at residential school commits suicide in Odisha's Malkangiri

Malkangiri, Feb 4: In an unfortunate incident, a Class 10 student at a residential school allegedly committed suicide near his hostel in Kalimela block of Odisha's Malkangiri district today.
The deceased student has been identified as Rigan Madkami, a resident of Kambeda village under Korkonda Block in the district.
As per reports, Rigan, a Class 10 student of Gompakunda Ashram School, attended the immersion ceremony of Goddess Saraswati on Sunday night and returned to the hostel.
However, he was found hanging from a tree behind his hostel.
Upon getting the information, police along with District Welfare Officer (DWO) Srinivas Achary arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation into the matter.
Though the exact reason behind the student's death is yet to be ascertained, prima facie reveals that he might have committed suicide.
Further investigation into the matter was underway.
