Balasore, Oct 8: Tension erupted in the Kuligaon village in Odisha’s Balasore on Sunday after a Class 10 student died after being allegedly beaten by a teacher.
Mob barged into the Banshidhar Bidyapitha in the village and vandalized school properties.
The incident took place at the Kuligaon under Khantapada police limits in Soro after the family members of the deceased staged a protest in front of the school and later the situation took an ugly turn in the evening as the locals joined it.
Sources said the student had reportedly sustained critical injuries on Saturday after a teacher thrashed him black and blue. He succumbed to the injuries today.
