New Delhi, Sept 2: The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has announced a series of nationwide activities to commemorate Teachers’ Day under the theme “Inspiring Minds, Building the Nation.”
More than 3,000 CISCE-affiliated schools across India and abroad will take part in the celebrations. A highlight of the programme will be a short poetry competition on 3 September, featuring students from both ICSE and ISC streams, aimed at encouraging young learners to creatively express their gratitude towards teachers.
Dr Joseph Emmanuel, Chief Executive and Secretary of CISCE, said, “The competition is designed to help students appreciate and acknowledge the role of teachers through the power of creative expression.”
Alongwith the competition, all CISCE schools will observe a pledge ceremony in which teachers will reaffirm their commitment to fairness, integrity and holistic education. The council underlined that this pledge reflects the pivotal role teachers play as nation-builders, guiding students towards a brighter future.
Describing educators as the “true architects of society,” Dr Emmanuel added, “By inspiring young minds, teachers not only impart knowledge but also lay the foundation of a stronger, progressive nation. Through these initiatives, CISCE seeks to honour the tireless spirit of our teachers and encourage students to value their immense contribution.”
