Sonepur, Nov 1: In a bizarre incident reported from Odisha’s Sonepur on Saturday, a working woman was gang raped by three bikeborne youths.

The miscreants, in a bid to rape the woman, sprayed anaesthetic chemical on her face and dragged her to a secluded place, away from the hustle & bustle of the Sonepur town, the complaint said.

The incident took place under the the Dharmasala outpost and Birmaharajpur police limit in the Sonepur district.

The survivor is a working woman, employed at a private company near Hikudi village.

According to the complaint, the woman on Friday was returning home from her work. Meanwhile, three bike-borne masked youths followed her. Getting her near their bike they allegedly dragged her towards them and sprayed an anaesthetic substance on her face. As a result, she fell flat within no time. Later, the unidentified youths raped her after she was forcefully carried to a lonely place.

Acting on the complaint, Birmaharajpur Police initiated an investigation to reach the miscreants.

Briefing on the crime, Birmaharajpur SDPO said, the police have so far detained two individuals in this connection. Interrogation is underway to nab the third acused.
