Berhampur, Nov 17: In the high-profile murder case of advocate Pitabas Panda, the Baidyanathpur Police will conduct a Test Identification (TI) parade of three accused — Chintu Pradhan, Jogendra Raut alias Yogi, and Kurupati Bhuyan — on Monday at Berhampur Jail. This follows the completion of TI parades for five other accused earlier.

Police have so far arrested 16 individuals in connection with the murder. Among them are former Berhampur MLA Bikram Kumar Panda, former Mayor Shibashankar Dash, BJD leader Madan Dalei, and corporator Malaya Bishoyi. According to investigators, the accused allegedly shot Panda at point-blank range on the night of Kumar Purnima. Kurupati Bhuiyan and Chintu Pradhan are said to have travelled to the Baikunthanagar area on a motorcycle before executing the killing.

A murder case had been registered at the Baidyanathpur Police Station following the incident.

On Saturday, the TI parade of accused Kurupati Bhuyan, Simanchal Nayak, Kundan Kumar, Bipin Spine, and Uma Bishoyi was carried out. The investigating officer, Town SDPO Priyas Ranjan Chhotray, had sought permission from the SDJM court to conduct the next round of identification, which has now been granted.

Sources indicate that more than three witnesses, including Akash Bishoyi and N. Kiran Kumar, will participate in Monday’s TI parade under the supervision of a magistrate.
