Puri, Aug 4: The public darshan of Lord Jagannath and his siblings Lord Balabhadra, and Goddess Subhadra at Puri Srimandir will be restricted for four hours today for ‘Chitalagi’ rituals.
For the rituals, the darshan for the devotees will be restricted for four hours from 2 pm to 6 pm today.
As per reports, Shri Vigrahaman Chitalagi Niti is performed on the holy occasion of Shravan Krushna Paksha Amabasya.
During this ritual, Vigrahaman is worshipped to seek blessing for the prosperity and well-being of the people. A special variety of pancakes made up of rice and coconut known as Chitou Pitha is offered to the deity as a food offering.
