Bhubaneswar, March 17: The Australian Consul General in Kolkata, Bernard Lynch, held a courtesy meeting with Odisha’s Minister for Industries, Sampad Chandra Swain.

During the meeting held at Minister Swain's official residence, detailed discussions took place regarding various aspects of the industries, skill development, and technical education departments.

The Australian Consul General praised Paradip Port for emerging as a major hub and securing the top position in the country for cargo handling. The meeting also focused on future partnerships between Odisha and Australia in the fields of industry, skill development, and technical education.

Discussions were held regarding increasing industrial investment and creating opportunities for advanced technical education for the youth.

The Consul General commended the numerous welfare measures and initiatives taken by the Odisha government over the past two years, particularly the progress made in the industrial and skill development sectors.

He expressed optimism that cooperation between Odisha and Australia would strengthen further in the coming days. This partnership is expected to play a crucial role in boosting the state's economy and preparing a skilled human resource pool.
