Bhubaneswar, Dec 1: All district Collectorate buildings in Odisha are set for a major transformation, with the state government approving a comprehensive redevelopment plan. As part of the new model design, fresh collectorate complexes will be constructed, each equipped with an integrated Sub-Collector office.

Under the new framework, districts have been classified into three categories — large, medium, and small — based on administrative units, population, and workload.

According to the plan, large districts will have Collectorate buildings spread over 1.7 lakh sq ft, medium districts over 1.4 lakh sq ft, and small districts over 1 lakh sq ft.

The large district category includes Sambalpur, Puri, Keonjhar, Cuttack, and Mayurbhanj.

The medium category comprises Kandhamal, Rayagada, Balasore, Jajpur, Balangir, Khordha, Kalahandi, Bhadrak, Bargarh, Kendrapada, Koraput, Angul, Nabarangpur, Dhenkanal and Jagatsinghpur.

The small district category includes Nayagarh, Malkangiri, Nuapada, Subarnapur, Jharsuguda, Gajapati, Boudh, and Deogarh.

In addition to the district-level projects, major infrastructure developments have been planned for the state capital. Bhubaneswar will soon have a new 10-storey Circuit House, equipped with a gym, library, and modern one-BHK and two-BHK accommodation facilities. A new Revenue Building will also come up in the city.

Similarly, Cuttack will get a new Revenue Board building along with a dedicated RDC office.

The government views these projects as critical steps toward strengthening administrative efficiency and improving public service delivery across Odisha.
