Chilika boat capsize: Body of elderly man fished out

Khordha, May 6: The body of the elderly man, Rajkishore Khuntia who had gone missing after the boat capsized in Chilika has been fished out on Friday. The rescue team led by Indian Navy officials recovered Khuntia’s body near Kharibandh in the morning, after an hour-long operation. A boat carrying as many as 11 tourists capsized in Chilika Lake due to a thunderstorm on Thursday. One person had reportedly gone missing as the boat lost its balance near Chadheiguha hill due to gale and severe rain caused by a Norwester. Efforts were on by police and other rescue teams to trace and rescue the missing person. As many as 10 persons including three sailors were safely brought ashore while a vendor who was selling out goods before the Kalijai temple, remained missing during the mishap.
