​​​​​​​Bhubaneswar, Oct 17: Yet in another ghastly crime, an Odia woman was allegedly raped & murdered in Hyderabad.

Family members of the deceased moved Odisha police on Friday as the Telangana Police reportedly registered an UD Case in this connection.

The deceased has been identified as SP Anindita Mahanta, a native of the Sakaleswar village under the Bharatpur Police, Bhubaneswar.

According to reports, Anindita with her husband and a 4-year son was living in a quarter provided by a construction company at Komapally in Hyderabad. On Wednesday, her husband with the son left for Bhubaneswar for an official work. Meanwhile, the woman’s body was seized by the Telangana Police on Thursday from the accommodation.

Following the incident, the construction company officials informed the deceased woman’s husband Goutam Charan Ghadei that Anindita was critical due to certain illness.However, upon arriving Hyderabad Goutam discovered his wife’s rotten body in the hospital morgue that was preserved for post-mortem examinations.

Suspecting a foul play behind Anita’s sudden death, her mother Sukanti Mahanta moved Khordha District Collector, SP & Labour Commissioner and called for a probe into the matter.

According to her, a miscreant from the construction company killed her after sexual assault.

The statement of either Hyderabad or Odisha Police in this conncetion is yet awaited.
