Bhubaneswar, Sep 11: Odisha Chief Secretary Pradeep Jena is suffering from dengue fever.
He is undergoing treatment at Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar. His health condition is stable, informed Capital Hospital director.
Dengue cases are rising across the state while Bhubaneswar city has emerged as the hotspot for the infections.
However, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials claimed that the dengue cases are gradually decreasing in the city with daily caseload going down to 10-15 compared to 30-40 last week.
They said the cases are decreasing due to intensified fogging and mosquito larvae destruction and an increased level of awareness among residents for improvement of the situation.
The number of dengue hotspots identified in the city has also come down to three from six last week. The current hotspots are Acharya Vihar, Nayapalli and Jaydev Vihar.
