Bhubaneswar, August 13: Consumers will have to pay more for chhena and paneer from August 15, 2026, following a fresh price hike announced by the Rajdhani Dairy Products Traders Protection Trust.
According to a press release issued by the association, the decision has been taken in view of the rising cost of milk procurement and cattle feed. The ₹4-per-litre increase in Omfed milk prices has added to the financial burden on dairy product traders, while higher cattle feed costs have further pushed up production expenses.
As per the revised rates, the price of chhena will increase by ₹20 per kg, while paneer will become costlier by ₹30 per kg.
The association said the new prices were finalised following approval at its general body meeting. It cited the increased cost of raw materials and growing financial pressure on traders as the main reasons behind the revision.
The price hike is expected to impact consumers as well as businesses that depend heavily on dairy products. Sweet shops, hotels, restaurants and other dairy-product traders are likely to face higher input costs, which could eventually be passed on to customers.
