New Delhi, January 24: President Droupadi Murmu will kick off 16thNational Voter Day Celebrations tomorrow at New Delhi.

President Murmu will grace the occasion and preside over the function as the Chief Guest, organized by the Election Commission of India (ECI) in New Delhi.

The theme for this year's celebration is"My India, My Vote", with the tagline"Citizen at the Heart of Indian Democracy."

Other key figures attending include Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, Union Minister of State for Law and Justice (Independent Charge) Arjun Ram Meghwal, and Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi.

As part of the ceremony, President Murmu will address the gathering and distribute Elector Photo Identity Cards (EPIC) to newly registered young voters. The President will also present theBest Electoral Practices Awards, which recognize excellence in areas like technology use, election management, voter awareness initiatives, enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct, and capacity-building efforts. Special awards for the media will also be presented.

The celebrations will feature the launch of two key publications:"2025: A Year of Initiatives and Innovations"and"Chunav Ka Parv, Bihar Ka Garv", which highlights the successful conduct of the General Elections in Bihar. Additionally, a video showcasing the Election Commission’s global leadership in electoral management and democratic development will be screened.

A special exhibition will be held, focusing on various aspects of elections, including the preparation of electoral rolls, the polling process, and recent initiatives to benefit voters. The exhibition will also highlight the successful execution of the 2025 Bihar Legislative Assembly Elections.

In line with the national observance, similar celebrations will take place across the country at the State and District levels, coordinated by Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) and District Election Officers (DEOs). Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will also organize events at polling stations, where they will honor newly registered voters and present EPICs to them.

This nationwide celebration emphasizes the importance of voter participation and the central role of citizens in India's democracy.
