Bhubaneswar, May 31: Body of a Chandigarh-based bar dancer was recovered from a closed room in Odisha’s Bhubaneswar on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Charu Malhotra who was working in a dance bar at Cuttack Road in Odisha’s Capital City.
Sources said, Charu’s blood stained body was seized from a shut house at Shiv Shakti Nagar residential area wherein as many as 25 girls were staying on rental basis. Following this, senior officials of the Pahala police undertook an investigation into the matter to ascertain the reason behind the suspicious death of the bar girl.
According to the investigation officer, prima facie says that the girl might be committed suicide. However, the exact reason behind the death is still in darkness as the body was recovered from a pool of blood in a room shut-down from outside.
A team of police is further examining chats, mobile call records, and other social media accounts of the deceased bar dancer to find significant lead regarding the incident.
The body, following primary inquest, was sent to the Capital Hospital for autopsy. Medical Report is awaited, said the investigation officer.
