Cuttack, Ap 28: The Chairperson of the Odisha State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Babita Patra, will visit SCB Medical College to investigate the disappearance of 14 children. Today, she is scheduled to arrive at the hospital to oversee the inquiry personally.

Following instructions from the Central Regional Deputy Collector, the SCB Medical authorities have already begun their own investigation into the incident. In addition, the District Child Protection Officer has initiated an official probe under administrative supervision.

Under the Right to Information (RTI) Act, voluntary organizations have also attempted to bring the matter to public attention. However, some groups have reportedly restricted their statements to a religious angle.

According to reports, between 2019 and 2026, several mentally challenged and destitute women in the maternity department gave birth to 16 children.

Currently, the whereabouts of these children remain unknown.

Further investigation is underway.
