​​​​​​​Bhubaneswar, Jan 6: While a pall of gloom descended across Odisha following the tragic death of News7 Journalist Sheela Patnaik on Tuesday in a road accident, the Odisha Union of Journalists(OUJ) has mourned the death of the renowned scribe.

While paying homage to the departed soul & due solidarity to the bereaved family, OUJ President Prasanna Mohanty expressed heartfelt concern for the 10-year boy, the only kin of the deceased scribe, especially over his care & future.Meanwhile, he urged Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi to accord an ex-gratia worth Rs 10 lakh for the kid’s education & care.

Apart from it, Mohanty called for extending the ex-gratia amounts meant for the Journalists to Rs 10 lakh.

Worth mentioning, News7 Senior Journalist Sheela Patnaik passed away today in a road mishap in Puri.
