Cuttack, Nov 26: In a surprise raid, Health department officials carried out a raid on two diagnostic centers in Cuttack, resulting in the closure of both establishments. The Health Department has also filed a case against the concerned organization for operating without the necessary licenses.

According to officials, the Diagnostic Center had been operating without a valid license since 2017. Despite this, the center continued to conduct illegal daily ultrasound scans. The organization was also found to be unregistered and carrying out many activities without proper authorization. As a result, the Health Department took the decision to seal the center.

The owners of the diagnostic center, however, maintain that there was no illegal activity taking place. They stated that the registration issue was purely a procedural matter and denied any involvement in unlawful practices. Nonetheless, the Health Department's actions highlight the importance of ensuring that diagnostic centers comply with legal and regulatory standards to prevent any misuse, including illegal prenatal sex determination tests.
