Students must secure at least 33% in each subject to pass. If a student falls short by a mark or two, the board may consider awarding grace marks. Students can check their results on the official CBSE websites cbse.gov.in, cbseresults.nic.in, results.cbse.nic.in.
CBSE has advised students to avoid misinformation and rely only on official sources for updates.
Additionally, results will be available on DigiLocker. Once declared, students can log in using their DigiLocker credentials and access code. These details will also be sent via SMS to the students’ registered mobile numbers. Through DigiLocker, students can download digitally verified copies of their marksheets and certificates.
Starting from the 2024–25 academic year, CBSE has introduced a new ‘Relative Grading’ system. This new approach is designed to reduce academic pressure and unhealthy competition. Unlike the previous fixed grading system where grades were assigned based on fixed score ranges (e.g., 91–100 for A1)—the new system evaluates students in comparison to their peers. Grade cutoffs will now vary depending on subject-wise performance trends and the overall number of passing candidates.
This year, over 42 lakh students appeared for the CBSE board exams, which were held from February 15 to April 4, 2025. Class 10 exams concluded on March 18, while Class 12 exams ended on April 4.
