Practical Upgrades for the Daily Rider
Honda has focused on practical enhancements that address the core needs of daily commuters. The most significant update is the inclusion of tubeless tyres, a much-requested feature that improves safety and convenience over the tubed tyres of the standard model. The Shine 100 DX also gets a new digital instrument cluster that displays useful information like real-time mileage, a distance-to-empty indicator, and a service reminder.
Beyond the functional upgrades, the new variant receives a subtle cosmetic refresh. It features new chrome garnishes on the headlamp and muffler cover, a new set of colour options, and a larger 10-litre fuel tank. These changes are designed to give the motorcycle a more premium feel.
Market Position and Pricing
The Shine 100 DX is not a new motorcycle but a top-of-the-line variant of the existing Shine 100. While Honda has not yet announced the official price, it is expected to be positioned competitively, with an estimated ex-showroom price of around ₹90,000. This pricing strategy aims to attract buyers looking for a more feature-rich and premium experience in the highly competitive 100cc commuter segment.
