Bhubaneswar, January 30: Odisha's Legislative Assembly will begin its budget session on February 17, marking the sixth session of the Seventeenth Assembly.

The 29-day session will start with the Governor’s Address, followed by the Motion of Thanks and the presentation of the 2026-27 state budget on February 20 by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.

The budget is expected to address key priorities such as economic recovery, agricultural support, and disaster management, with allocations for development and social welfare schemes.

The session's schedule includes general budget discussions from February 23-24, with no meetings from February 25-28.

The provisional calendar also notes a break from March 1-8, with potential adjournments based on the session's progress.

The second part of the session will start on March 9 to April 8.

The budget session holds significant importance as Odisha continues to focus on sustainable growth under the BJP-led government, with opposition parties, including BJD and Congress, likely to scrutinize the proposals.
