New Delhi, May 26: In another setback for the embattled edtech company, Byju’s Learning App has been delisted from the Google Play Store due to outstanding payments to Amazon Web Services (AWS), according to sources familiar with the matter.
The payment dispute reportedly dates back to April last year, with AWS attempting to recover dues from Think and Learn Pvt Ltd, the parent company operating under the Byju’s brand.
“The Byju’s Learning App was removed from the Play Store because of non-payment to AWS, which powers the app’s backend infrastructure,” a source revealed. “The company’s financial matters are now being overseen by an Insolvency Resolution Professional, who is responsible for addressing all payment-related concerns,” the source added.
This development marks another blow to the once high-flying edtech giant, which has been facing a series of operational and financial hurdles in recent months.
