Mumbai, Mar 7: IndiGo has announced that it will operate flights to five destinations in West Asia on Saturday, March 7, 2026, amid the volatile situation in the region. The airline’s travel advisory confirmed services to Dubai Airport, Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah Airport, Akrotiri Airport, and Fujairah International Airport.

Flights will also operate in the reverse direction, from these West Asian cities to Delhi, Mumbai, and Hyderabad, facilitating the return of Indian nationals stranded due to the ongoing conflict.

In its advisory, IndiGo stated: “As the situation continues to be volatile in and around the Middle East, we understand that many customers are still waiting to reach the places and the people that matter most to them. Over the past few days, our flights have helped reunite many with their loved ones. Yet, we know that some journeys are still unfinished.”

The airline further assured that operations will continue “subject to prevailing safety conditions and applicable regulatory approvals,” and that the safety and well-being of passengers and crew remain a top priority.

This announcement comes against the backdrop of widespread flight cancellations and rescheduling, as airspace in West Asia has been impacted by the conflict between US-Israel and Iran. The conflict began with joint US-Israel strikes on Iran on February 28, which killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, prompting retaliatory attacks by Tehran on Israel and US military bases in the region.

IndiGo has also extended a full waiver on cancellations and rescheduling for travel to and from the Middle East and Istanbul until March 31, 2026. The airline advised passengers to monitor flight status via this link or contact its Customer Care Centre at +91 124 6173838 for support.

A recent post on IndiGo’s X account stated: “Our teams remain actively engaged, working with care and diligence to support your travel plans while maintaining an unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of our customers and crew.”

The airline’s proactive approach aims to balance operational continuity with passenger safety as tensions continue to rise in West Asia.
