Jammu, August 11: A Border Security Force (BSF) Jawan from Odisha, deployed on Jammu & Kashmir border reportedly shot himself dead on Monday from his service rifle.
The deceased has been identified as Suresh Biswal, a native of Malpura village under Kamakhyanagar police limits in Dhenkanal district.
According to reports, Suresh, who had been serving in the BSF for the past 15 years, had returned to duty spending a few days leave at his village.
According to report, he used his service rifle to shoot himself dead during his duty.
The precise reason behind his suicide is yet to be ascertained. However, he might have taken the extreme step for marital discord,said family sources
The BSF Authorities have informed the fact to the bereaved family while mortal remains are expected to reach Odisha by the afternoon tomorrow.
