Bhubaneswar, Sep 7: Brown sugar weighing 1.19 kilogram was destroyed on Thursday at a designated incinerator in Khordha.
The contraband was destroyed on the decision of Drug Disposal Committee led by SP, STF, Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Excise, DSP, STF in the presence of scientific officers of State Forensic Science Laboratory and member of State Pollution Board.
The seized contraband brown sugar was first authenticated and certificated by the concerned court and handed over to the committee for the destruction. So far, STF has destroyed 63.945 kg brown sugar in 51 cases and 136 quintals of ganja in 30 cases including today’s destruction. Similarly, till date, Odisha Police has destroyed more than 340 MTs of ganja and 77 kgs of brown sugar.
