New Delhi, January 16: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) confirmed on Friday that it has been actively working with IndiGo Airlines to ensure that passengers affected by major operational disruptions between December 3 and 5, 2025, are fully compensated. A press release from the DGCA highlighted that IndiGo has processed and refunded all cancellations during this period, with funds returned to the original payment method.

As per the DGCA Civil Aviation Requirements (CAR) Section 3, Series M, Part IV, passengers are entitled to compensation for flight cancellations, delays, or denied boarding. The release emphasized that passengers whose flights were canceled within 24 hours of the scheduled departure may claim additional compensation via a special link provided by the airline.

IndiGo has also introduced a "Gesture of Care (GoC)" initiative to further support affected passengers. This includes offering two travel vouchers worth INR 5,000 each (total value of INR 10,000), valid for 12 months. The GoC is available to passengers whose flights were canceled or delayed by more than three hours during the disruption period.

Passengers can check their eligibility and submit the necessary details for these vouchers through a dedicated link on IndiGo’s website. A list of eligible flights is also available online. The DGCA has advised passengers to ensure that their contact details are correct at the time of booking to facilitate timely notifications about schedule changes and assistance.
