Konark, Nov 8:  In a bid to containing minor accidents in the Konark Sun Temple premises, climbing atop the Nata Mandap of the monument, has been restricted.

The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) on Saturday imposed the restrictions on climbing up the first Nata Mandap of the Konark Temple, following a number of accidents due to it.

While a notice in this connection has been issued for favor of the pilgrims’ information, special security personnel have been deployed to ensure strict implementation of the fresh guideline.

Worth mentioning, with reports of frequent slip & fall accidents the ASI authorities resolved to restrict visitors to come atop the Nata Mandap while overseeing the intricate artifacts of the ancient workmanship.  

Visitors are requested to witness the Konark Sun Temple right from the ground till further notice, said ASI Circle Superintendent, Puri while briefing presser.
