Kendrapara, Oct 31: A long 12-foot crocodile was rescued from a pond in Alava village, in the Pattamundai Municipality of Kendrapara district on Friday. The sighting of the enormous reptile in the village pond caused panic among locals.

According to reports, several villagers first spotted the crocodile in the pond, and it was seen again the following morning, while feeding on fish. Concerned, the villagers immediately contacted the Forest Department office for assistance.

Being informed, the Forest Department officials arrived at the village and launched an operation to safely capture the crocodile. After three hours of intense effort, the team successfully netted the reptile.
