Berhampur, Nov 25: Bride Tapaswini Dash, who has been staging dharna in front of the groom's house, today performed the worship of Goddess Lakshmi on the first Thursday of ‘Margasira.’ The bride, Tapaswini performed Laxmi Puja at the gate of her groom, Sumit Sahu’s house at Brahma Nagar in the Silk City. On the other hand, groom Sumit Sahu allegedly called it a farce. Pramod Sahu, father of Sumit said on Wednesday that, “My son Sumit Sahu married to Tapaswini Dash in the court without family member’s consent. Later Tapaswini was brought into the house as the daughter-in-law. Despite being treated as a daughter, she used to quarrel frequently and had left the house. Even she had lodged a complaint under Section 498 (A) of IPC”. Pramod said he and his family members are on bail and his son has filed a divorce petition. Tapaswini Dash along with social activist Pramila Devi staged a dharna at lane 2 of Bramha Nagar in Berhampur locality. She had alleged that the groom and his family members didn’t turn up for the marriage and didn’t accept her as a daughter-in-law.
