Malkangiri, Aug 29: Strong will, confidence, and clear goals are powerful forces that can transform anyone's destiny. Despite facing numerous obstacles, Mangala Muduli from the Bandaghati area in Khairaput block of Odisha’s Malkangiri district has exemplified this truth.

Mangala, son of Hadi and Mangali Muduli, has successfully cleared the prestigious National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), opening the door for him to pursue a career as a doctor. Mangala is now set to enroll at MKCG Medical College in Berhampur.

Hailing from Badbel under Mudulipada panchayat in Malkangiri district, Mangala is driven by a desire to transform his community and improve his family's future. The loss of villagers due to medical negligence has deeply affected him since childhood.

After completing his schooling at Government Boys’ High School, Mangala achieved excellent results in his Plus II board examinations at Mathili Baladiaguda College. His journey to becoming a doctor was significantly supported by his science teacher, Utkal Keshari Das, who recognized Mangala’s potential and inspired him to pursue his dream. Das's encouragement and guidance were instrumental in helping Mangala overcome challenges and stay focused on his goal.

Das attributes Mangala’s success to his hard work and dedication. Although there are many talented students in Bondaghati like Mangala, they often lack the guidance and support needed to reach their full potential.

"I've dreamed of becoming a doctor since childhood because of the lack of basic healthcare facilities and road connectivity in my village in Malkangiri. I’ve witnessed the suffering of people in my village as they struggle to access medical services. When someone falls ill, they often have to walk miles to reach a primary health center. In such situations, people sometimes turn to sorcery for help with their health problems. This experience fueled my determination to achieve my dream and serve the people in my village," Mangala explained.

Former Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik, took to his X handle to congratulate Mangala Muduli and wrote: “Strong will power and hard work pave the way for success. Mangala Muduli of Mudulipada Banda Ghati in Malkangiri District is a shining example of this. His determination has paved the way for him to study medicine. This achievement of Mangala is a source of inspiration for all. Wishing him a bright future.”
