Singer Booked for Performing Stunt on Sea Link
Bollywood singer and songwriter Yasser Desai is facing legal action after a video of him performing a dangerous stunt on Mumbai’s Bandra-Worli Sea Link went viral. The Mumbai Police took action on Tuesday, registering an FIR against the singer for the prohibited act.
The video shows Desai exiting his vehicle on the sea bridge, climbing onto the railing for a recording, and then quickly leaving the scene. Stunts of any kind are strictly forbidden on the Sea Link due to the significant safety risks involved.
Police Take Swift Action
After the video gained traction online, police verified the incident using CCTV footage from the bridge. An FIR was subsequently filed against Desai and the associate who filmed the video.
Desai has been booked under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Motor Vehicles Act, including charges related to endangering public safety and rash driving. According to a police officer, authorities are now using the car's registration details to trace Desai. Once located, his statement will be recorded, and a formal notice will be served. The incident serves as a stark reminder that performing such stunts for social media can lead to serious legal consequences.
