Dhenkanal, Oct 19: Body of a elderly couple who was missing since yesterday was recovered from a canal near Rengali in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district.
The deceased couple has been identified as retired police habildar Dushashan Sahoo and his wife Padmavati Sahoo of Panchabati village under Sadar police limits of the district.
According to the information, the duo had come from home yesterday morning and did not return till night. However, body of Padmavati was recovered from the canal on late Wednesday night while Dushashan’s body was recovered on Thursday morning. It has been suspected that, they might have slipped to the canal and drowned.
Being informed, Sadar police reached the spot, seized the bodies and started investigation into the incident.
