Rourkela, Aug 20: The body of a National Institute of Technology (NIT) student, who had gone missing on Saturday while bathing in Akaishila Dam in Odisha’s Rourkela, has been recovered this morning.
As per reports, some students of NIT had gone to Akaishila Dam on Saturday and were taking bath when one of them went missing after getting swept away.
His friends alerted the fire service personnel who then rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation to trace him, but in vain. The operation was stopped due to darkness.
However, the operation was resumed this morning and the fire-fighters recovered his body.
On getting the information, Bisra police arrived at the spot and seized the body. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mortem.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
