Bolangir, Sept 9: The body of a newborn girl was recovered from a drain on the premises of Bhima Bhoi Medical College & Hospital (MCH) in Odisha's Bolangir town on Saturday.

The matter came to the fore after a few people spotted the baby and alerted local police and medical authorities.

She was immediately admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The health of the baby girl is stated to be in stable condition.

Worth mentioning, the baby girl is said to be a day or two days old. It is alleged that the mother of the girl abandoned her and went away after giving birth. The local police have reached the spot and are investigating the matter.
