Balasore, Aug 30: Body of a minor girl, who was missing since Tuesday was recovered from an abandoned three storey building near Balgopalpur Industrial area under Remuna block in Odisha’s Balasore district on Friday.
The deceased 9 year old might have raped and murdered, said sources. However, police have detained a person identified as Rabi singh in this connection.
According to the report, the minor girl was kidnapped on Tuesday morning. A complaint in this regard was lodged by her father with Remuna police. Based on the complaint, police started an investigation and started a search operation.
The body was detected by some people residing near the abandoned building. Being informed, police reached the spot, seized the body.
Further investigation in this regard is underway.
