Bhubaneswar, December 15: Malkangiri District Collector Somesh Kumar Upadhyay and Superintendent of Police Vinod Patil visited Rakhalguda, Mariwada, Niliguda, and MV-18 villages on Monday to promote peace and social cohesion. During their visit, they held discussions with residents, urging unity and mutual understanding for the sake of future generations.

The District Collector emphasized resolving differences through dialogue and appealed for collective efforts to rebuild trust and harmony in the community. He also addressed welfare concerns, including expediting land patta issuance for tribal residents and facilitating the enrolment of a dropout student into a nearby school with hostel facilities.

SP Vinod Patil warned against the spread of fake news and rumours, stressing that strict legal action would be taken against offenders. Villagers expressed their commitment to maintaining peace, and the visit is seen as part of ongoing efforts to restore stability following recent communal tensions in the region.
