LEH/JAMMU, March 4: Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel stationed at the 14,300-foot-high Pangong Lake in Ladakh marked Holi with the local villagers of Vibrant Villages, On Wednesday, bringing warmth and joy despite the freezing sub-zero temperatures.

Pangong Lake, a mesmerizing 134-kilometre-long saltwater lake nestled in eastern Ladakh and extending into Tibet, is known for its striking deep blue waters that change hues with the seasons. While the lake is a popular tourist destination, it completely freezes during the winter months, creating an awe-inspiring frozen landscape.

In the spirit of Holi, the ITBP troops reached out to nearby villagers, sharing the festivities and spreading cheer amidst the stark, icy surroundings. The event served as a symbol of solidarity and joy, highlighting the strong bond between the troops and the local community, officials noted.
