BMC asks govt offices to prevent water stagnation to combat dengue

Bhubaneswar, July 22: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) today asked heads of all government offices in Bhubaneswar to prevent water stagnation within their office premises in view of an increase in dengue cases. An order in this effect was today published by the BMC. The civic body has also decided to inspect public parks to prevent water stagnation. “The seized vehicles lying inside the Police station premises are also a potential source for stagnant rainwater which attracts the mosquitoes for their breeding. The llC concern to take special care and clear all such stored stagnant water and cover the vehicle area to prevent storing the rainwater in vehicles,” read the order. The BMC has also asked office bearers of the Resident Welfare Associations to take steps to prevent waterlogging within their premises to prevent the breeding of mosquitoes.
