Bhubaneswar, Jan 4: Odisha Vigilance on Sunday apprehended Bijaya Kumar Barik, Inspector-In-Charge (IIC) of CRRI Police Station in Cuttack, while allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹40,000 from a licensed liquor vendor.

According to official sources, the trap was laid today and Barik was caught red-handed at Rajmahal Chhak in Bhubaneswar. The bribe amount was reportedly demanded to allow the liquor vendor to run his business smoothly without police interference.
