Srinagar, May 9: A sudden blackout was imposed across the Kashmir Valley, including in Srinagar, the region’s summer capital, late Friday evening, officials confirmed.
The precautionary measure followed a series of attacks in Jammu earlier in the day, which triggered widespread panic among residents.
Local reportedly said that they heard sirens in several areas during the blackout, further escalating anxiety.
In response, authorities have urged residents to remain indoors and switch off all lights until further notice.
Police have tightened security across the region and are closely monitoring the situation.
