Bhubaneswar, December 5: As many as 324 large and medium industrial projects with a combined investment of Rs 7,06,209 crore have been approved by the State Government in the last one-and-a-half years (April 2024 and November 2025), informed Industries Minister Sampad Swain.

Responding queries of BJD MLAs – Prasanna Acharya and Aravind Mohapatra, the Minister informed the Odisha Assembly that these projects are expected to create employment opportunities for 4,57,052 people in the State.

"From April 2024 to 30 November 2025, a total of 324 large and medium industries have been approved. Through these approvals, investment amounting to Rs 7,06,209 crore has come in. It is estimated that this will create employment opportunities for 4,57,052 people," the Minister said.

According to Industrial Policy Resolution (IPR 2022), industrial unit will go into production within three-five years from the date of starting of the projects.

By November 2025, projects have been approved in 29 out of 30 districts.

“The Government's goal is to establish industries in every district, and the Industries Department is progressing in that direction,” added the Minister.

The Minister further informed the House that in the last four years, more than 2000 start-ups have been established in the State.

“Show-cause notices have been issued to several industries as to why the land allotted to them by the Government should not be taken back for failing to set up their units within the stipulated time period,” said the Minister.
