Bhubaneswar, February 16: As the Budget Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly (OLA) begins on Tuesday ( February 18), the Police administrations are putting in place stringent security measures across the state capital.

A total of 35 platoons of police will be deployed around the Assembly premises to ensure safety and order.

Speaking to the media on Monday, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissioner of Police Suresh Dev Datta Singh outlined the extensive preparations made for the smooth and peaceful conduct of the session. Ceremonial security rehearsals were conducted earlier in the day as part of a comprehensive drill to assess readiness.

The Commissioner mentioned that over 100 officers will be stationed at both the inner and outer perimeters of the Assembly.

In addition to the regular police force, two Special Tactical Units (STUs) and seven Quick Response Teams (QRTs) will be on standby to address any emergencies swiftly.

“We have established a three-layer security system, ensuring measures are in place to handle any potential protests outside the Assembly,” Singh added.Bottom of Form
